Test process

I wanted to create a way for my patients to investigate their fatty-acid balance without having to commit to an ongoing subscription before they even know whether they need one.

Here is how it works:

  1. Book a short appointment or let me know if you need a test during a standard follow up. I have test kits in clinic. We perform the test and I will not charge you the $200 RRP for that test. The test is sent to an independent lab in Norway.

  2. Your results arrive in approximately three weeks. We can then look at your individual fatty-acid profile rather than guessing. If your omega balance and other relevant markers are already in a good range, and there is no other reason for you to supplement and I will bill you for the test.

  3. If your results show that your fatty-acid balance would benefit from ongoing support, you can choose to continue. At that point you can move onto Zinzino's discounted subscription arrangement rather than purchasing your oil at the RRP of $95. BalanceOil+ is currently charged at $72 per month, with two bottles delivered every two months. The subscription can be cancelled with 30 days' notice. With that first order, you will receive a test to do at home which you can then give to me as a replacement for the test you did in clinic. In 3 months, you will receive a complementary follow up test with your oil order.

Testing as an online or over the phone patient

The test is actually designed so that it can be done at home. If you are an online patient please contact me to find out how you can order the test and do it yourself.

We test. We look at your individual results. Then we decide.

Why retest?

Cell membranes do not change overnight. Fatty acids are gradually incorporated into cell membranes over time.

Zinzino's Balance program is designed around approximately 120 days of supplementation before repeating the BalanceTest. The second test provides an opportunity to compare your new fatty-acid profile with your starting point and see whether the intervention has actually changed your measured balance.

This is one of the aspects of the program that I particularly like: we don't simply assume that taking an omega-3 supplement has worked — we can measure the change.
